Drapery Cleaning
Draperies are an expensive, yet decorative, addition to any window.
The length of service of your draperies will depend on how well they
are constructed, where they hang in relation to the sun, and how well
you care for them. Once you have made the decision on the fabric,
lined or not, be sure to follow the care instructions. Smoke, cooking
fumes and sun weaken the fabric, not drycleaning. Prolong the life of
your drapes with CPR:
| |
Cleaning frequently, at least
once a year, and vacuuming regularly |
| |
Protect drapes from moisture
through window condensation or rain |
| |
Rotate to vary sun exposure |
When purchasing drapes, consider these points:
| |
Request preshrunk fabric |
| |
Check on fabric colorfastness and resistance to sun fading |
| |
Purchase the fabric that is adaptable to the specific area.
Lining prolongs the life of a drape in a highly sunny window. |
| |
Be sure to have complete written care instuctions |
